The tooth is carefully shaped to accommodate the crown. Impressions are taken for custom crown fabrication.

After crown placement, some sensitivity to hot or cold is normal and typically resolves within a few weeks. You can resume normal eating once the anesthesia wears off, though we recommend avoiding very hard or sticky foods initially. The crown requires no special care—simply maintain good oral hygiene.

All-ceramic crowns for front teeth may differ in cost from zirconia crowns for molars. Most dental insurance plans provide partial coverage for crowns.
